Biography - Richard A. Hricik

Richard Hricik, licensed in both South Carolina and Ohio, practices in both State and Federal Court in the areas of Personal Injury, Auto & Trucking Accidents, Workers Compensation, Medical Malpractice; and Litigation in areas such as Insurance Claims, Real Estate and Business Disputes.  

He has been recognized and received the following professional distinctions;

  • Super Lawyer – 2012 – is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Less than 5% of all lawyers in the state receive this distinction.

Born and raised in a working class suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, he worked jobs ranging from the local gas station to dishwasher to bank teller and earned his undergraduate degree while working full-time. He has gotten his hands dirty and knows first-hand the concerns of everyday people.

Richard received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Cleveland State University cum laude, and his J.D. from The College of William & Mary - Marshall-Wythe School of Law where he was awarded the Order of the Barristers for outstanding oral advocacy.  He has been representing clients since 1993.

Richard relocated to the Charleston area to join the faculty of Charleston Southern University where he taught on both the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of criminal justice and constitutional law.

Committed to the Charleston community, he volunteers and has served as a Trustee of his church, as Board Chair of a local Montessori Charter School and supports numerous local charities financially. He is married to Pam and they are blessed to have two young girls who fill their lives with joy.

Richard has appeared on Count-on-2 News as a legal commentator, and the Leo & Allison Y102.5 radio program as their Legal Analyst, addressing newsworthy legal issues. He is an active member of the American Association of Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America), South Carolina Association for Justice, Federal Bar Association, and Charleston County Bar.
